Clinton, MO.
PONCA CITY, Okla. (November 13, 2019) – The National Bass Anglers Association announced today that Truman Lake in Clinton, MO, will host the 2020 NBAA National Championship. Qualified teams will come from across the country for a premier event on one of the top lakes in the country April 30 – May 2, 2020
Clinton
Tourism Association will host the national event as
anglers travel from North Carolina to Montana and many states in between to
stay a week in the region. NBAA is excited to work with the Clinton Tourism
Association to roll out another great event.
“Our community is very pleased to welcome the
National Bass Anglers Association in April, 2020 to Clinton, MO and Truman
Lake,” The Clinton Tourism
Association Chairman, Ashley
Wareham said. “We look forward to hosting this great tournament from Bucksaw Resort
& Marina, along with all its anglers.”
Truman Lake is the largest man-made lake in Missouri with 55,600 acres
and 958 miles of shoreline and is filled with lots of standing timber.
“The NBAA’s team structured format
is a great format to fish,” NBAA Tournament Director, Randy Sullivan, said. “Anglers
compete in events on a local level with very little travel or cost. Then, each
year they can qualify for a true national championship event at a famous
fishery like Truman Lake where they will catch tons of largemouth, smallmouth
and spotted bass for a chance at cash and prizes that rival any event,
including the top prize of a Ranger RT 188 boat powered by a Evinrude outboard
and Minn Kota trolling motor with Hummingbird electronics.”
A detailed fact sheet will be posted to the website at www.nbaa-bass.com with more
information needed for those attending the event. Wednesday evening, April 29th
will be registration / rules meetings, while competition days will begin
Thursday, April 30th and the 2019 Champions will be crowned and awarded their
new Ranger Boat with Evinrude outboard on Saturday, May 2nd.
