Ponca City, Okla. (October 12, 2020) – The National Bass Anglers Association announced today that Lake Chickamauga, in Dayton, TN, will host the 2021 NBAA National Championship. Well known as a “bucket list lake,” Lake Chickamauga will provide the opportunity of a lifetime for many of the qualified teams who will come from across the country for this premier event on one of the top lakes in the country April 8-10, 2021.
Rhea Economic and Tourism Council Inc. will host the national event as anglers travel from North Carolina to Montana and many states in between to stay a week in the region. NBAA is excited to work with the Rhea Economic and Tourism Inc. to host the 2021 championship event.
“Our community is very pleased to welcome the National Bass Anglers Association in April, 2021 to Lake Chickamauga,” Chamber leader, John Bamber said. “We look forward to hosting this great tournament from Dayton Boat Dock, along with all its anglers.” Chickamauga Lake is one of the best lakes in the country and early spring is a great time to catch the bass of a lifetime.
“The NBAA’s team structured format is a great format to fish,” NBAA Tournament Director, Randy Sullivan, said. “Anglers compete in events on a local level with very little travel or cost. Then, each year they can qualify for a true National Championship event at a famous fishery like Lake Chickamauga where they will catch tons of largemouth bass for a chance at cash and prizes that rival many of the larger organizations.”
Additionally, a record payout awaits the NBAA qualified teams as NBAA sponsor Ranger Boats has upped the ante for the Championship event and the top prize for 2021 will be a RT 198 Ranger Boat, powered by a 150HP outboard!
A detailed fact sheet will be posted to the website at www.nbaa-bass.com with more information needed for those attending the event. Wednesday evening, April 7th will be registration / rules meetings, while three competition days will be held Thursday, April 8th, Friday April 9th and Saturday April 10th.
