Lake Cumberland, Kentucky to host the 2025 NBAA National Championship
PONCA CITY, Okla. (November 26, 2024) – The National Bass Anglers Association announced today that Lake Cumberland, Russell Springs, KY, will host the 19th annual NBAA National Championship in 2025. Qualified teams will come from over 20 states on March 19-21, 2025.
Lake Cumberland Tourism Commission and Russell Spring, KY will host the national event as anglers travel from Florida to Montana and points in between for the week-long event. Anglers compete in their local overtime or weekend division events on a local lake with very little travel or costs. Then, once each year the top anglers from each NBAA division can qualify for a true national championship vacation event at a destination fishery like Lake Cumberland where they will catch numerous quality largemouth and smallmouth bass for a chance at significant cash and prizes including a new Ranger boat.”
“We are excited to welcome the National Bass Anglers Association to Russell Springs, KY in March of 2025” said Danielle Wilson, Executive Director of the Lake Cumberland Tourist Commission. “We look forward to hosting this championship event and showcasing the unique charm and hospitality our community has to offer.”
“It’s been a few years since this event has been held outside of the central US so it is fitting that this year we will be a bit closer to many of our northern and eastern division’s. Lake Cumberland, Ky and Halcomb’s Landing will be a fresh new place for our championship anglers to visit.” stated NBAA President, Robert Cartlidge. “The uniqueness of Lake Cumberland is that the lake is diverse enough that it could be won with multiple styles of fishing and with Largemouth or Smallmouth so the anglers will have to figure out the puzzle that fits their fishing style.”
A detailed fact sheet will be posted to the website at www.nbaa-bass.com with more information needed for those attending the event. Competition days are slated for Wednesday March 19, Thursday March 20 and the 2025 Champions will be crowned on Friday, March 21th at Halcomb’s Landing. Daily weigh-ins are free and open to the public.
